The bowl is composed of five hand-cut, pentagon shaped slabs. Each slab is joined together at clean angles using slip and score technique. The five slabs form a geometric yet organic vessel with a distinctly architectural feel. The use of the slab-building technique—a hand-building method in ceramics—allows for intentional construction, where flat sheets of clay are cut, shaped, and assembled while still pliable.
