A wide belly mug that is decorated using sgraffito technique, where a layer of slip or underglaze is applied to the surface and then the detail is scratched or carved into it to reveal the underlying layer of clay or a different colored slip. In this case, black slip/underglaze is used to draw on and the details of flowers and leaves are carved in.
